The Soho House

As I was planning a trip to NYC to see Bruce Springsteen on Broadway, I was contemplating on where my guest and I should stay. There are many options in the city, but my first choice was The Soho House . It’s not only a hotel, but a member’s club in the trendy meatpacking district of Manhattan and not really in Soho.

As we arrived, we walked into the very small, unobtrusive reception area and were welcomed with open arms by Elle. I felt like I knew her since we had worked together for over a month on this trip. We took the elevator up to our room and talk about “putting some WOW into your now!” It was one of the most extraordinary rooms I’d ever laid eyes on with vintage furniture and every amenity you could think of.

Let me list for you all the “WOW’s” of this exclusive place:

1st WOW

The showers are equipped with three different types of body wash to your liking and three different types of shampoo and conditioner. One day I wanted relaxing, the other day invigorating and the other day uplifting. The daily essentials are numerous and provided as well. Just think of something you forgot at home, and low and behold, The House will have it. Mark my word. :)

2nd WOW

Between 6:30 and 8:30 every evening, as you’re getting ready to go out to dinner, you’ll hear a slight knock on the door. It will most likely be a handsome young man with a bar cart to craft and mix a cocktail for you. Yep, that’s right! Every night, I had the best Soho Mule mixed for me just right in my private room as I was curling my hair. Now that's service!

3rd WOW

The different venues in The House are extraordinary. Let’s first start with the 6th floor where you can have dinner or just lounge. This place is an adventure with awesome music, great vibes and filled with creative people. It’s all about bubbles and banter for me. I was definitely inspired by some of the people we met as there were several opportunities for my creative juices to flow. From the 6th floor, walk downstairs to the Vinyl Room, which is a cool place to hear speakers, listen to sound sessions or have a bite to eat. I danced to a Disco session while the DJ’s were spinning vinyl. It was so much fun! Walking upstairs from the 6th floor, you’ll reach the rooftop, which is another fantastic venue. I’m sure it’s packed during the summer months as there’s a pool and the grandest view from atop the roof. There’s even a photo booth indoors which is always a fun, creative activity. There’s also the cinema room where they host film screenings of documentaries, family movies and the classics. I wish I had more time to view a screening. Next time!

4th WOW

There are so many more Soho House properties to visit around the world. I’d love to visit Babington House, Soho Farmhouse and the two in California, Little Beach House Malibu and Soho House West Hollywood. I can’t wait for the San Francisco House! 5th WOW

The Cowshed spa. Best massage ever. No more explanation needed.

Time to book my next stay!
