Bubbles Are No Trouble

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! Do you know what you’re going to do for your sweetie(s)? If not, have no fear – I have a great idea for an elegant Champagne Brunch with a Mimosa Bar that will wow your loved ones and make them feel special.

1) Make The Champagne The Star

Buy Champagne, the real stuff (No Prosecco!). Find some that costs roughly $40 a bottle such as Nicolas Feuillatte. Or, if you want something more fancy, go for something like Roger Coulon Brut. And then of course, there’s always Veuve! Need some other suggestions? Just Ask!

2) Build A Fabulous Mimosa Bar

Chill your Champagne in a silver ice bucket. Set out all different sizes and shapes of flutes and place red and white straws (paper straws are on trend right now) in each one. Provide at least three different types of freshly squeezed juices such as orange, grapefruit or peach. Place the juices in crystal decanters for an upscale look. Slice up fresh oranges, pineapple, strawberries and raspberries and put them in serving bowls. Encourage everyone to plop their favorites in their flute to add some color.

3) Serve Fabulous Food

For an easy buffet, serve a frittata. Plus, toss up a big green leafy salad with avocado, roasted asparagus, sesame seeds and a variety of fresh fruit. Serve with a Champagne vinaigrette dressing. Need a recipe? Just Ask!

4) End With Something Sweet

For dessert, show your love with a big Champagne soufflé and individual cups of raspberry sorbet. Splash some Champagne over the sorbet for a beautiful treat.

After a successful brunch, you may not have any Champagne left. However, if you happen to, I suggest pouring some into your bath for a soothing and sparkling experience! Fabulous!

And, if you want a simple something just for yourself on Valentine’s Day, here’s a classic Champagne cocktail to enjoy:

Ingredients

  • 1 sugar cube
  • Angostura bitters
  • Crushed ice
  • 2 oz. Cognac
  • 2 oz. Champagne
  • ¼ oz. Chartreuse liqueur

Place sugar cube in a Champagne glass, soak with the bitters, add a handful of crushed ice, add the Cognac, then top with Champagne. Drizzle with the liqueur. Yum!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
