Robin Laub, a Life Stylist

The Many Sides of Robin - Part I.

The Academy Awards show will be aired on ABC TV this Sunday, March 2nd! And for the second time in a row, the magnificent Ellen DeGeneres will be the star host. She quotes, “you know what they say, the third time’s a charm!” ha! What’s charming about Ellen is how much she loves music and loves to dance. A girl after my own heart! I can’t wait to see what comes traipsing down the red carpet in terms of Oscars outfits. Who will have the best look? Amy McAdams? Gwyneth Paltrow? Jennifer Lawrence? Sandra Bullock? I’m sure they’ll all look fabulous. The dresses are the best part of the show, in my opinion!

And speaking of dresses, in this Part I of my new series The Many Sides of Robin I’m wearing a Notte by Marchesa delicate black embellished lace mermaid gown. If you look closely, the beaded and floral lace part of the dress ends at my knees and then the two-tiered sheer tulle falls nicely down. It was hemmed to perfection to minimize any tripping or ripping. I spotted this evening dress on The Outnet, an online fun and fashionable outlet. You’ll see great designer finds at “not designer” prices!

I also wore long black gloves. I bought them years ago at Saks Fifth Avenue and they still look brand new! Everyone should have a long pair of gloves, but they need to fit as snuggly as possible to elegantly shape your lower arms.

To carry my essentials I purposely chose an ivory clutch, which looked like a big corsage. It helped give my look some color contrast and fun functionality. Always splash on some color to add another dimension to your outfit.

Simple pearl earrings and black stilettos were all I needed to complete this red carpet look. Nothing else is necessary. “Less is More!”

An outfit like this can be worn at a black tie event, the opening of a ballet, a New Year’s Eve gala or even to a formal evening wedding.

As one of The Many Sides of Robin, my Special Event Stylist service is here for you. From help putting a winning look together to having it altered, all you have to do is just ask!

Are you red carpet ready?

Fingers crossed for Amy Adams!
