Get your glamorous gowns ready, it’s Oscar watch party time! I’m embarrassed to say, but I haven’t watched many of the movies nominated for awards this year. BUT, I’m ready to party like a movie star while watching the Academy Awards in my fancy outfit.
If you’re headed to a watch party, here are some fun gift ideas to bring to your host or hostess:
- Creatively wrap a bottle of Veuve by tying a little plastic golden statue to the neck of the bottle. You can find these faux statues at any party store or Amazon.
2. Bring a cake from your favorite bakery with the movie poster design of your nomination for Best Picture.
3. Bring small bags of gold foiled chocolate stars for all the stars of the party to enjoy.
4. Bring small bags of peppermint bark popcorn presented on a tray for the host or hostess to hand out to all of their guests. For my quick and easy recipe, go here.
5. Bring a big bouquet of gold balloons with a weight and place them in the corner of the room near the big screen.
6. Bring a gold boa and top hat for the host or hostess to wear while they call out the winners who have voted on the movies.
7. Have posters of all the Best Movie Nominations printed poster-size and ask your host or hostess if they’d kindly paste them to the wall. Ha!
8. Bring a red carpet (before the party) to roll out by the front door so when all the fancy schmancie guests arrive, they’ll feel extra important. Your host will be delighted unless they already thought of everything!

I think I might just dress up as one of the stars from Big, Little, Lies. I know it’s not a movie nominated for an Academy Award, but I love all those women. Who should I be?
