Quick and Delicious Dessert Ideas!

Summertime is upon us, which means we could all use a sweet new recipe or two – right? I have two great ones that are simple to make. Plus, they’ll please the palates of everyone that’s lucky enough to try them.

S’mores Bananas

This recipe is SO easy and incredibly yummy. I’m salivating as I write this!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • Milk chocolate chips
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Coconut flakes

Tools:

  • Aluminum foil

Instructions:

1) Slit the banana skin lengthwise, just enough so that you can peel the skin over to each side exposing the banana as if it’s in a canoe. Ha! Don’t cut all the way through the banana to the other side.

2) Sprinkle ¼ cup or less of chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and coconut flakes to your liking. I like mine stuffed!

3) Place the filled banana on a piece of aluminum foil and wrap the banana so the entire banana is covered.

4) Cook on a grill, over a fire or in a 300 degree preheated oven and heat the banana for 2-5 minutes until melted. Open the foil from time to time to see if the chocolate chips and mini marshmallows have melted.

5) When all that rich goodness is melted it’s mangia the banana time! Spoon it up! Oh my goodness, this is a delicious one!

Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches The Easy Way

When I have homemade cookies and ice cream, this is the recipe I run to!

Ingredients:

  • 16oz container of your favorite ice cream
  • Homemade cookies that have a diameter the same size or bigger than the ice cream container. Store bought cookies are good, too!

Tools:

  • A sharp knife

Instructions:

1) Slice off an inch of the top of the ice cream container.

2) Place that ice cream disk on a cookie, peel off the ice cream container paper, add another cookie on top and there my friends is your nifty ice cream sandwich. Yum, Yum, Yum!
