The Many Sides of Robin - Part II.

Spring to Paris! What better way to spend spring break than to take a trip to Paris? Parfait! The magical city where you can shop to your hearts galore, eat at the finest restaurants and tour not only La Tour Eiffel, but countless majestic landmarks sprinkled throughout Paris.

Remember in one of my past Reports when I spoke of my trip to Paris? Well, I've been back since, surprisingly enough, and found my perfect coat. Welcome to Part II of my Many Sides of Robin series, The Wardrobe Consultant!

In the get-up shown in the photo, I’m sporting a Tara Jarmon coat with a fur fox collar. When I saw it in the store on Les Champs-Élysées, I just HAD to have it. A friend I was with said, “do you have a lot to go with that coat?” And I exuberantly said, “I would wear it anytime, anywhere, any place!” I wanted it and I wanted it IMMEDIATELY! Sounds like a shopping temper tantrum – doesn’t it? Ha!

It’s a very versatile coat. I can dress it up with the foxy collar or detach the collar for a sense of hipness. The color is mustard, or as I like to say, honey or caramel and the fabric is virgin wool with a furry, fun and fashionable collar. This swing-like style coat is elegant, comfortable and resonates with my joie de vivre and joy.

With the iffy weather we’ve been experiencing this spring in the Bay area, a nice medium lightweight coat like the one I found is ideal. I highly suggest trying a new color this season, like a mustard color. You’re probably thinking, “what goes with that color?” And frankly, there is a myriad of color choices that one can wear with this gorgeous hue of yellow. It can be worn with navy blue, royal blue, brown, teal and yes, of course black. I wear this coat with my dresses, my skinny jeans and heels and of course my high black Stuart Weitzman boots which I’m sporting in the photo. Need to find the perfect pair of shoes? Or a great stylish bag for spring? Just Ask!

Let me say, I know just the right way to put a little Wow into Your Now if you shop with me in Paris or anywhere for that matter! I’m your “go to” Wardrobe Consultant. Plus, I'll make you laugh! Trust me. All you have to do is set up a consultation with me and we’ll shop till we drop!

Besides finding the perfect coat, there’s nothing better than Paris in the spring. Take a leap of faith and saunter down Les Champs-Élysées while sipping a café au lait…or un chocolat chaud (French hot chocolate).

And if you can’t make it to Paris quite yet, here’s a great recipe to make your own chocolat chaud:

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped. I use premium chocolate such as Guittard or Ghiradelli
  • ¼ cup plus 3 tablespoons hot water, divided
  • 3 cups hot milk
  • sugar, to taste
  • whipped cream or mini marshmallows
  • chocolate curls

Preparation:

Using a double boiler or a heat-safe glass bowl over simmering water, melt the chopped chocolate into ¼ cup of the water. Stir in the hot water and milk until the chocolate mixture is smooth. Pour the hot chocolate into fun and fashionable demi tasse cups. Garnish each cup with a dollop of whipped cream or 1-2 mini marshmallows and finish off with a few chocolate curls. Quick and easy, fun and fast! Enjoy as a morning, afternoon or evening delight!

Cheers,
